i’m not sure what style of veil will look best, do you offer styling advice?
Being an independent designer that creates slow luxury pieces, we want you to feel 100% confident in your decision. There is nothing we pride more than our hands on approach to styling, and dedication to help each bride feel their best. We want you to think of us as your personal stylist / best girlfriend. Feel free to book a complementary 15 minute zoom appointment to answer any questions you may have and see samples ‘in person’. Whether it is choosing colours, laces, or veil length: we are here for you.
What do the Veil Lengths mean?
If you have researched anything to do with a veil, chances are you have heard the terms “fingertip”, “chapel” and “cathedral”. These are terms used as a rough guideline to different veil lengths, but no need to worry, all that matters is what you want! Most of our veils come in standard lengths of 40” (fingertip), 85” (chapel) and 120” (cathedral). We make all of our cathedral length veils an extra 10” longer than the norm, because it elongates your silhouette even more, to help you look your best. We make veils to any custom length you wish, send us an email at info@janerhyan.com and let’s talk.
WHEN WILL MY ORDER SHIP?
Good things take time. Each piece is lovingly handmade to order, specifically for you, which can take 4 - 12 weeks, sometimes more. We understand some brides do not have the luxury of waiting that long, and in certain cases we are able to offer rush services. Please reach out to us with your wedding date, and we will do our best to accommodate.
I am not sure on what colour to choose?
All of our veils are available in ivory, which is a soft tone suited for most bridal gowns. All of our soft pastels and coloured veils are statement pieces, which we believe go with everything!
Still have questions? Feel free to book a complementary 15 minute zoom appointment to answer any questions you may have and see samples ‘in person’. Whether it is choosing colours, laces, or veil length: we are here for you.
Do you offer rush or ‘ready to ship’ items?
While we do not offer ‘ready-to-ship’ items, in some cases we have all the supplies on hand to create your item(s). Please reach out to us with your wedding date, and we will do our best to accommodate.
I haven’t found my dress yet, is it too soon to purchase a veil?
Style is personal. If you see a Jane Rhyan veil that catches your eye, chances are it’s unique. We say, it’s never too soon to start styling yourself for your wedding. As an independent designer, we do not purchase tulles and laces in extremely large quantities like our mass-produced competitors. This means once a particular lace or colour-way is sold it, it’s gone forever. Trust your intuition - if you are drawn to a particular piece, we think it was meant to be. If you make all your style decisions this way, you will pull your look together effortlessly.
How much does
shipping cost?
We offer FREE standard North American shipping and $30 FLAT RATE Worldwide shipping on veils and accessories purchased through our online boutique. Expedited shipping, and shipping insurance are recommended, and are available for a fee. Shipping rates are calculated at checkout and are dependant on where you live.
How Is Each Piece Packaged?
Each piece is delivered in our signature Jane Rhyan packaging: a keepsake box and handwritten note with non-acidic tissue paper to keep your piece beautiful for years to come.
If you are purchasing an item(s) as a gift, please send us an email with your order number and the bride’s name, and we would love to offer a complimentary gift wrap and include a personal message from you on a signature Jane Rhyan postcard!
A Note On Photo
Accuracy On Our Website
Please take the time to read the item's description, colour and measurements. Since all items are hand cut and hand sewn, measurements and shape may vary slightly. Since we do not purchase tulles and laces in extremely large quantities like our mass-produced competitors, dye lots may vary slightly, but this lends to the rare quality of each piece. We cannot guarantee that the colours displayed on your monitor or cell phone screen will exactly match the colour of the product, due to professional photography edits, variations in screens, display settings and resolutions.
As all head sizes and shapes vary, the measurements listed in the item's description are the best way to determine what the actual size of the piece will be. Don't just look at the photos and assume it will look exactly the same on you. We will not reimburse or exchange styles where the customer did not read the product's size/length prior to purchase. By purchasing an item, you are agreeing to purchase what is described on our site for that particular product(s). When in doubt, please contact us with any questions prior to purchasing your item(s).

How does a veil stay in my hair?
Every Jane Rhyan veil comes hand sewn to one of our signature gold plated combs. While not necessary, it is recommended to purchase early enough to have your Jane Rhyan veil with you at your hair trial, so that you and your hairstylist can decide the placement in your hair. Veils can be firmly secured with two bobby pins criss-crossed through the comb.
Do I Have To Wear My Hair A Certain Way To Wear A Veil?
No! You can wear a veil with any type of hairstyle, up or down. We love it at the top of the crown, styled with the hair down, or tucked below a classic chignon. There are no rules, and we encourage you to wear what makes you feel like your best. There is nothing we pride more than our hands on approach to styling, and dedication to help each bride feel their best. We want you to think of us as your personal stylist / best girlfriend. Feel free to book a complementary 15 minute zoom appointment to answer any questions you may have.
Should I Wear A Long Or Short Veil?
While both have their own unique qualities, it all comes down to personal style. Short veils can be elegant or fun, and worn all evening; long veils tend to be more classic and dramatic. Wear the style that makes you feel like the version of the bride you want to be, or wear both! We have had quite a few brides choose a classic veil for their ceremony, and a more unique and fun short veil to take their reception look to the next level.
We do have one rule though, if you are wearing a long veil, it should extend past the length of your dress train in order to elongate your silhouette and make you look your best. We make veils to any custom length you wish, send us an email and let’s talk.
How Do I Choose The Length Of My Veil?
Whether you are purchasing an available length, or requesting something custom, it is best to measure to help you visualize exactly what you will be getting. Start with a soft measuring tape, or a piece of string and a ruler. Hold the tape/string at the crown of your head, where you plan on pinning the comb into your hair. Let the tape/string fall to the ground softly, and lay out to the length you would like your veil to end, and measure the total length.
Most of our veils come in standard lengths of 40”, 85” and 120”. If you are wearing a long veil, it should extend past the length of your dress train in order to elongate your silhouette and make you look your best. We make veils to any custom length you wish, send us an email at info@janerhyan.com and let’s talk.
Can I wear a long veil to an outdoor
ceremony?
Absolutely. We love that weddings have become so much more than traditions, and couples are designing their days exactly how they want. Whether your ceremony is on a beach, in a meadow or a church, that shouldn’t stop you from wearing a long veil. You can wear whatever you want, wherever you want; to be a Jane Rhyan bride, is to embrace your own unique style. Whatever your vision is, we are here to create it, by hand, just for you.
How do I care for my Jane Rhyan piece?
Each piece is created with the highest quality tulles and lace, and are meant to be modern heirlooms passed through generations. To keep your piece looking its best through the years, we have included some tips:
Hang your veil to help de-wrinkle, and use a very gentle steam, if necessary.
Do not use a steamer with a metal faceplate, it risks the chance of burning a hole in the delicate tulle.
Handle your piece with care; the tulles and laces used are extremely delicate.
After the wedding, keep your piece stored in your Jane Rhyan signature box, inside non-acidic tissue paper.
What Is Jane Rhyan’s Return Policy?
Please choose your items carefully and email us with any questions prior to purchasing a piece. Due to the made-to-order nature of our pieces, we cannot offer returns or exchanges. Please keep in mind, due to the handmade nature and the natural materials we use, slight variations will occur; the integrity of the design stays intact.
Where do you source your materials?
At Jane Rhyan | the collection, we believe creating luxury bridal doesn’t mean ignoring our social responsibility. Which is why we choose to produce quality over quantity, creating made-to-order pieces. As an independent designer, we do not purchase tulles and laces in extremely large quantities like our mass-produced competitors. We use the highest quality materials sourced from like-minded businesses, locally and throughout North America, and Europe.
Our packaging is recyclable, uses post-consumer waste, and is sourced from Canadian businesses.
Not only does your purchase help support our dream, but the community we live in.
